Ahead of this summer’s Women’s Euros, Nike launched an unprecedented initiative motivated by a desire to celebrate and empower the most dynamic and influential squad in German women’s football.
Last month, 14 national team players were invited to the inaugural Female Future Football Forum (FFFF) — Nike’s latest initiative to continue their support for the next chapter of women’s football and shine a light on the players leading the charge.
They were hosted by the Swoosh for a two-day retreat at Lake Tegernsee, participating in numerous activities, including hikes, yoga, and sailing, culminating in a private dinner. With anticipation growing as the tournament loomed ahead, the retreat gave the players a rare respite before the biggest event on this summer’s football calendar.
More than just the perfect send-off, the FFFF was yet another reminder of Nike’s commitment to the women’s game, from rising stars to recognised icons.
Although Nike won’t officially become the German Football Federation’s (DFB) sponsor until 2027 — providing kits and equipment for the men’s, women’s, and youth teams — it’s clear that the Swoosh is intent on shaping the future of the game today.
