Alex Scott Discusses Arsenal, Fashion, And Style At The Disney+ Women’s Champions League Launch

Disney+ have revealed their new world-class roster of presenters, analysts, and commentators, for the 2025/2025 Women’s Champions League season, with all 75 matches set to be shown live – combining expert talent with ESPN’s renowned production, to offer a first-of-its-kind all encompassing coverage of the Women’s edition of the tournament.

Their combined expertise and passion will capture the competition’s drama, skill and storylines, with Disney+ bringing fans closer to the action than ever before, from the new League Phase in October through to the final whistle in Oslo, all included as part of existing subscriptions.

We headed down to a Style of Our Own, a burgeoning hub in the heart of London, dedicated to fans of women’s sports to celebrate the UEFA Women’s Champions League on Disney+, and catch up with some of the all-new broadcast line up, including ex-Arsenal defender Alex Scott.

When it comes to European Women’s football, there is no one better placed to discuss it with than Alex Scott. The 2024 WSL Hall of Fame inductee, previously scored the winning goal in the 2007 Women’s Cup Final as Arsenal clinched their first Women’s European trophy, and rounded off a historic quadruple in the 2006/2007 season.

Now an established broadcaster and pundit, and part of the new roster for this season’s European competition, we sat down with the former player to talk all things Champions League, fashion, and more.

Fresh from attending Hugo Boss’ Milan Fashion Week show, and after briefly discussing her fit on the day, it seemed only right to get Alex Scott’s thoughts on who the best-dressed players are in the women’s game right now. Curiously, Scott refused to pinpoint one specific player, choosing instead to highlight the variety of styles in the women’s game. A symptom, she believes, stems from the development of the women’s game and the eradication of the arbitrary expectations on female footballers. The vast array of styles in the game can only be a positive, and it reinforces the freedom players have to express their personal styles – a movement that Scott is strongly in favour of.

Moving away from the runway and back to the pitch, we challenged Scott to choose one of the current Arsenal players in the WSL she’d like to play with, with Scott quick to answer with “Olivia Smith.” Highlighting the £1 million record signing’s prowess on the wing, Scott admitted she’d just stay back and let her do her thing. But after reminding her of her own attacking prowess from right-back, Scott agreed that the two of them would combine to dangerous effect on the pitch.

Finally, as we discussed the significance of Arsenal Women’s Champions League triumph alongside the new dedicated viewing service offered by Disney+ in conjunction with ESPN, Scott couldn’t speak highly enough of the impact both will have on the women’s game.

The UEFA Women’s Champions League kicks off on 7 & 8 October, with every game live on Disney+ as part of existing subscriptions.
