After dropping the highly coveted adidas Originals Copenhagen collection, F.C. Copenhagen and adidas have pushed the boundaries of the modern sporting cultural zeitgeist even further, going beyond the pitch and into the heart of the city’s cultural essence with the launch of the short film IN THIS CITY.
The collection itself features the iconic adidas Originals tracksuits, shirts, and crewnecks in F.C. Copenhagen’s classic dark blue, which was initially brought to life through a series of stills set against the unpolished streets of urban Copenhagen – nostalgically capturing the aesthetics and cultural atmosphere of the ‘90s.
Taking the bond between the Club and Copenhagen’s internationally renowned cultural scene even further, F.C. Copenhagen and adidas collaborated with filmmakers from Blonde Inc. to develop a fictional short film inspired by the spirit of Copenhagen. Combining bold visuals with authentic urban aesthetics, IN THIS CITY embodies the spirit of the ‘90s – an era defined by striking contrasts, original personalities, and fearless self-expression.

Starring Danish musician Emil Mercedes Baadsgaard (USSEL) in the lead role, the film is set against a nostalgic backdrop inspired by the atmosphere of the iconic decade, following characters as they navigate uncertain paths through life.
“IN THIS CITY explores Copenhagen’s originality. It’s a tribute to the city – to those who came before us and those daring to define who they want to become. It also demonstrates how sports can shape authentic stories with cultural significance.” – Alfred Lauritzen, Partner & Executive Producer, Blonde Inc.
Produced by Blonde Inc., directed by Carl Feigenberg and presented in collaboration with Danish cultural magazine Soundvenue, IN THIS CITY premiered at an exclusive screening on October 8 at Park Bio – near F.C. Copenhagen’s home stadium — and will be available to stream online starting October 15.
